SHOPPER SELF-SERVE ORDER EDITING
OrderEdit gives your shoppers a self-serve way to change a shipping address, cancel an order, swap a variant, or remove a line item — right from their Shopify customer account, before anything ships. Every change runs server-side with your rules enforced. No support ticket, no manual admin edit.

Address typos, “I ordered the wrong size,” and “please cancel item 2” are the most common pre-shipment requests. OrderEdit deflects them into a self-serve flow so your team handles fewer tickets.
Letting shoppers correct an address before fulfillment cuts misdelivered packages, reships, and the refund losses that follow a parcel sent to the wrong place.
Customers fix their own mistakes in seconds from the order-status page instead of waiting on an email reply — a smoother experience that respects your fulfillment and refund policies.
OrderEdit installs from the Shopify App Store and runs through a Customer Account UI extension and your secure offline Admin token. No theme code, no custom development.
Each operation is server-side, eligibility-checked, and individually toggleable. The line items below read like a ledger — index, name, what it does, and the amendment it makes.
Customers update where their order ships with a guided address form. Applied via Shopify’s orderUpdate so the corrected address flows straight to fulfillment — before the wrong-address package goes out.
A full self-serve cancellation with your configured restock, refund-to-original-payment-method, and customer-notification behavior. Authorized-but-uncaptured payments are voided automatically.
Wrong size or color? Shoppers switch the variant or adjust quantity through Shopify’s order-edit flow (orderEditBegin to orderEditCommit) instead of opening a ticket.
Remove just one item from a multi-item order, with restock and a refund of the suggested amount for that line to the original payment method — the rest of the order ships untouched.
Toggle each of the four operations on or off, set your edit window in hours (default 24h), and choose whether items auto-restock and whether the customer is notified. You stay in control of every rule.
Edits are only allowed when the order is unfulfilled, inside your edit window, and requested by the customer who actually owns the order. Fulfilled orders, expired windows, and non-owners are rejected automatically.
Every requested change is logged with its type, payload, status (Applied / Rejected / Failed), and result, viewable from your admin dashboard alongside a monthly usage meter versus your plan limit.
Customers fix their own orders before they ship — so you handle fewer tickets, eat fewer wrong-address reships, and spend less time in the admin. Live in minutes, no code.
From the shopper tapping “edit” to the change being written to the order — four steps, all authenticated and rule-checked.
From the Shopify Customer Account or Order Status page, where they already go to check on an order — no separate portal or login.
Change address, cancel the order, swap a variant or quantity, or cancel a single item — only the operations you’ve enabled appear.
Server-side checks confirm the order is unfulfilled, inside your edit window, owned by the requester, and within your plan limit — or the request is rejected.
OrderEdit writes the change through Shopify’s Admin API with your secure offline token, runs your restock and refund rules, and logs the result.
Designed previews of the customer edit modal and the admin settings — built to match the shipping product. Not screenshots.

Shoppers open their order from the Shopify customer account or order-status page and pick an action: change address, cancel order, swap variant or quantity, or cancel a single item. The request is authenticated and applied server-side through Shopify’s Admin API using your store’s secure offline token. The customer-facing extension never touches the Admin API directly.
Everything. You toggle each of the four operations on or off, set the edit window in hours (default 24h after the order is created), and decide whether items auto-restock and whether the customer is notified on an edit. Edits outside your rules are rejected.
Only when all of these are true: the order is unfulfilled, it’s within your configured edit window, the requesting customer owns the order, the specific operation is enabled in your settings, and your shop is within its plan limit. Fulfilled orders and orders past the window are always rejected.
Canceling an entire order refunds to the original payment method and voids any authorized-but-uncaptured payment. Canceling a single line item reads Shopify’s suggested refund for that line, restocks it, and refunds the suggested amount to the original payment method. Unpaid or COD orders are skipped automatically.
On the Shopify Customer Account and Order Status surfaces, via a Customer Account UI extension. Customers find it right where they already go to view their order — no separate login or portal.
No. OrderEdit installs from the App Store and runs as a Customer Account extension plus a backend that applies changes server-side. There’s no theme editing or custom development required.
Yes. Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on Supabase with TLS-encrypted connections, and is never sold or shared with third parties — order mutations go only to Shopify. We implement all three mandatory Shopify GDPR webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact) and delete all shop data within 48 hours of uninstall.
The Free plan includes 25 edits per month with all four operations and a configurable edit window. Paid plans scale with your monthly order volume — starting at $89/month for up to 2,500 orders — and include unlimited edits, auto restock & refund, and priority support. A 1% upsell-revenue fee applies only once post-purchase upsells launch. Billing runs through Shopify, and you can change plans any time from your Shopify admin.
Install OrderEdit, switch on the operations you want, and turn pre-shipment chaos into a calm, self-serve flow.
